Youth Life Skills What are Independent Living Skills? Independent Living Skills Groups provide youth and young adults with an opportunity to learn skills that are necessary in becoming self sufficient. Topics that are covered include:
Who Can Participate? Youth between the ages of 14-21.
When and Where will the Skills Groups Meet? New Skills Groups start periodically and individual classes are available also. Please contact HAPA for the current schedule. Meetings are generally held at the office of HAPA at 120 North Central in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
Other Services & Information Skills Groups are FREE to eligible youth and young adults. Participants also have access to individual sessions. Case Workers or Foster Parents who wish to refer youth to Skills Group should contact Lezli Zimmerman at HAPA - 218-237-4114.

Other services can be obtained through this program for eligible youth. These services can include assistance with: Transportation costs, Rent, Employment Supplies, Drivers Education Fees, GED Fees, Important Document Fees, Household Goods, and College Testing Fees.
